PTA Enrichment is Coming

Hey folks, time to get ready for Enrichment and we’re seeking teachers!  If you have a hobby or skill you’d like to share, this is a great opportunity.  Classes are taught at Fall Creek School, once a week for six weeks from 2:10 – 3:10 p.m. Teachers are paid $240.00 for a six week session, and reimbursed for supplies up to $60 or more depending on class needs. We try to keep class size to about 8 students and group kids into classes by grade, i.e., some classes would be offered to kids in grades K-2 and others grades 3-5.

We will be offering two enrichment sessions this year, our Winter Session from November 7 through December 15 (teachers will be paid for this session before the holidays), and Spring from April 16 through May 24. Teach just one session or both if you like.

We’re seeking teachers for the following classes:

  • Chess - We already have a group of experienced chess players at Fall Creek and have a source for chess sets.
  • Gardening - Beautify our school while teaching kids to garden!  Spring Session only.
  • Fishing - Yes fishing! Kids walk to the creek our school is named after and our afterschool program has fishing poles to lend. Note: this class meets for three days only for two hours a day in the last week of May.
  • Art - We would love to offer art classes in any medium, drawing, painting, clay sculpture, found objects, murals.
  • Other suggested classes: Dance, model building, jewelry making, science experiments, music, singing, origami, puppet making, foreign language, sewing, cooking … or anything else fun you’d like to teach. Can’t teach but have a great idea for a class? Let us know!
