Re-takes

School Picture Re-Take Day

This THURSDAY NOVEMBER 20th!

If you are having pictures taken for the first time, you may fill out a form to order portraits or only a yearbook*; forms are in the main office.

If you are having re-takes done, please remember to hand in your complete package with your student.

* A yearbook only package (no additional portraits) costs $6.50.  Yearbooks are included in all portrait packages at no additional charge.

The Fall Creek PTA supplements the cost of yearbooks, so that all students will receive one.

Great Job, Stingers!

Our spelling bee team made it to the championship round Sunday afternoon in the IPEI Adult Spelling Bee. The Fall Creek Stingers won the first round, which had five other teams. We then faced off against the winners of the other three rounds: The South Hill Spellicans, the FCS Family Buzzers and the Spellin’ Hellions from eCornell. But the word “triolet” stumped our team. (It’s an 8-line poem.) The Spellicans went down soon after. The Hellions then took the grand prize for correctly spelling miscellanea (a collection of diverse objects or writings.)

So congratulate our spellers: Principal Karen Keller and Parents Becca Gergely and Mary Ann Erickson. Our team is already talking strategy for next year’s bee!

And thanks to Lexi,

who was drafted to be the bee who escorted teams off the floor when they misspelled a word.

Friday’s Face: Ismail

What’s the coolest thing you did in school this week, Ismail?
“Breakdancing.” Ismail and two friends were the first act in Thursday’s talent show. He likes breakdancing “because it’s fun and you get a lot of strength.” (Ismail is in Ms. Andersen’s second-grade class.)

We do! Thanks to David Moreland and Hilby’s fantastic performance.  There was a full house in Kulp Auditorium for last Friday’s magic show. Thanks to all the volunteers and especially David and Hilby for making it possible.

Friday’s Face: Aidan

What’s the coolest thing you did in school this week, Aidan?
“Going to Mr. Bell’s science group (an enrichment class). We made a duck call from a cup with a string and a wet paper towel rubbed against it. It sounded kind of like a goose. We also took a clothes hanger with two strings tied to it and you can hear the vibration when you bang it against something. ” (Aidan is in Abigail’s first-grade class.)
