All our students, teachers and staff watched Barack Obama become the nation’s 44th president at noon today. Televisions showed live coverage all around the building, thanks to Principal Karen Keller and several visits from Time Warner Cable that made sure the televisions were connected to the cable system. (That’s art teacher Caitlin Baxter’s teddy bear wearing the presidential button.)

What’s the coolest thing you did in school this week, Quinn?
“My birthday celebration. Singing happy birthday and eating cupcakes — chocolate cupcakes with white icing and sprinkles.” (Quinn is in Miss Alicia’s fourth-grade class.)

“Writing. We also draw pictures and paint. I like mixing colors.” Theo said he likes to just start drawing and decide what to draw as he goes along. Rain forest animals are his favorite subject. (Theo is in Ms. Andersen’s second-grade class.)
