What’s the coolest thing you did in school this week, Theo?
“Writing. We also draw pictures and paint. I like mixing colors.” Theo said he likes to just start drawing and decide what to draw as he goes along. Rain forest animals are his favorite subject. (Theo is in Ms. Andersen’s second-grade class.)

What’s the coolest thing you did in school this week, Ismail?
“Breakdancing.” Ismail and two friends were the first act in Thursday’s talent show. He likes breakdancing “because it’s fun and you get a lot of strength.” (Ismail is in Ms. Andersen’s second-grade class.)

What’s the coolest thing you did in school this week, Aidan?
“Going to Mr. Bell’s science group (an enrichment class). We made a duck call from a cup with a string and a wet paper towel rubbed against it. It sounded kind of like a goose. We also took a clothes hanger with two strings tied to it and you can hear the vibration when you bang it against something. ” (Aidan is in Abigail’s first-grade class.)

What’s the coolest thing you did in school this week, Jiji?
“I did a play with Anna W., Declan, Galen, Seldoen and Anna B. The play was about Jake Drake Teacher’s Pet (the book) with six different scenes, but short. It was so fun.” (Jiji is in Ms. Alicia’s fourth-grade class.)

“In art, we did a collage. A crazy one with jewels, feathers and paper.” She enjoys collage “because I like gluing stuff.” (Tara is in Mr. Bell’s first-grade class.)

What’s the coolest thing you did in school this week, Sean?
“This shiny new pencil I got from my teacher for doing a good job.” Sean and his teacher made up a story about two cats playing. He also found a toy on top of the trash can on the playground. “It must be my lucky day,” he said (Sean is in Ms. Langdo’s third-grade class.)

“We’re learning about how Congress makes laws, how they become laws. We have to write it all down on paper and it’s really interesting.” (Zoe is in Ms. Wilcox’s fifth-grade class.)

What’s the coolest thing you did in school this week?
Luke: “Playing outside — kickball. I got a home run.”
Amanda: “I liked a book I read. The sun came up. A person sneaked downstairs. He gets food. Then he pretends he’s asleep.”
Tyler: “I liked walking upstairs to the library. And being at Fall Creek with my brother and sister.” (Tyler was at Cayuga Heights last year.)
